missunderstood animals

hi everyone im back! onto animal #1 gray wolf. its closest relative the coyote. wolves are 60 to 135 pounds. young wolves will stay in the pack that there parents are in until at least 2-3 years old then they go to other packs or start their own. people think wolves are vicous but they barely ever attack humans. animal#2 great white shark. baby great whites will immediatly leave its mother when their born. sharks weigh 4500 pounds. they can last about 2 months without  a pretty big meal.now for the most missunderstood animal of all! #3 siberian tiger. there are only 400-500 siberian tigers in the wild! they live mostly in russia though some live in china and north korea. a little siberian tiger cub was discovered in russia. tigers roars can be heard from 2 miles away. one more thing. tigers are making a comeback! remeber tigers are not really mean people just think that.





all these animals are more afraid of you than you are of them.

the sarcastic fringehead

the sarcastic fringehead is a odd little fish. beware just because sarcastic fringeheads are small does not mean they are not mean! in fact they are very mean and territorial. and when they get territorial they do something weirder than their name!

the ocean day 3 asia

hi everyone! today i am going to talk about asias marine life! animal #1 japanese giant spider crab. fact 1 they can live up to 100 years. fact 2 they can have a leg span of 13 feet. the japanese name for this amazing crab istaka-ashi-gani meaning tall legs crab. animal 2 mimic octopus.they are known for being able to mimic other animals where they live. the mimic octopus was first discovered in 1998 so its new to people. the mimic octopus is small for an octopus,it is only two feet.

the ocean day 2 antarctica

i am just going to tell you the ocean life event will be 7 days. now lets hop into the zoology! the first animal i will talk about are ice fish. fact 1. ice fish have no red blood sells! they can survive in 28 to 39 degrees farrenheight negative 2-4 degrees celsius. they have been adapting for millions of years in the cold water. animal 2 is the colossal squid. 1 toothfish can be enough food for a colossal squid for a couple of days. the colossal squid has the largest animal eye known. colossal squid are one of the animals known least to human kind. animal # 3 for us is the antarctic krill. they are one of the best food sources for animals. antarctic krills main spawning time is january to march. krill are bioluminesent. sorry there are no colossal squid pictures! there is not anough facts and information and picturees for me to post a picture!

the ocean day 1 australia

animal 1. blobfish.  they live in the waters of australia new zealand and tasmania. there are only 420 blobfish left in the wild they are very endangered because of trawling nets and stuff that should not be in them float in their mouth. every blobfish is diffrent from other blobfish some way or other. animal 2. archerfish. archer fish can shoot water up at their prey to get them. the water can go up to a foot off the ground. archerfish are very acurate when shooting. Toxotes jaculatrix is their scientific name! they live from east africa to australia. animal 3. dugong. dugongs are often mistaken for mermaids. most of the time dugongs are alone or they are in pairs. they can stay underwater for a maximum of six minutes.

animal parenting (besides humans)

 Today i am writing about animal parenting! the parenting bug  is the only (or maybe one of the few)egg laying animals to raise their children! male seahorses lay eggs! orangutans are the primate that raises their children the longest besides humans! i will end with an animal parenting story one squirrel was rescued by a wildlife rescuer but instead of the rescuer raising the squirrel the rescuers dog who just had pups did! so the squirrel was raised just like the pups!

in honor of cecil the mighty lion

cecil the the lion was killed. by a dentist. he was lured out of the national park he was in and was chased for  twenty hours until they hit him with the arrow! he was a beautiful lion and had 22 cubs! then he was killed!

birds of prey

 the perigrine falcon has a top speed of 256 mph. perigrine falcons wingspan is 74-120 centimeters. the saker falcons name comes from the arabic word for falcon. the saker falcon is larger than the lanner falcon which is a medium sized bird. the red tailed hawk is from a family called chickenhawk. red tailed hawks are the most common hawk for falconry. bald eagles almost went extinct from the 40s to 60s. in a couple of north american cultures bald eagles are considerd sacred birds. panama's national bird is the harpy eagle. the way you can tell something is a harpy eagle is that it's upperside has black feathers it's underside has white feathers! there about 425 california condors in captivity and in the wild combined! in some native american myths california condors are sacred but in others they are evil! turkey vultures are sometimes called turkey buzzards! turkey vulture population is very big the number is 4,500,000!!!!!!!!!

not very popular primates

the galago also known as bushbaby or nagapie  make urine paths and by followings the urine,s smell nagapies can be right next to eachother. galagos can jump 2.25 meters. pottos have few predators but one group of chimps ate some but no other chimps do there real predator is humans if they are near villages. african palm civets eat them sometimes even though they are fruitivores.  pottos grow from 30-39 centimeters. lorises have poisoun in their elbows and lick it for a poisinous bite.  their are two genuses of loris their is loris and nycticebus loris contains slender lorises and nycticebus with slow lorises. tarsiers have large eyes for seeing in the night because they are nocturnal. tarsiers are the one type of primate that is entirely carnivorous. they are insectivores.

the ringtailed lemur creates a stench by rubbing its hands together (i think. if there is another way please tell me in the comments). the golden bamboo lemur can eat pith a part of bamboo that is poisinous. the red bald headed uakari witch is a type of monkey is actualy healthy when its head is red. proboscis monkeys have large noses to attract female proboscis monkeys. we and bonobos share more than 98.7% of dna together. gibbons used to be considered monkeys.

komodo dragons bearded dragons and flying dragons

Komodo dragons are the biggest lizard on earth and at the same time the heaviest. Full grown adults can be ten feet long. Komodo dragons are millions of years old. Komodo dragons have saliva with lots of harmful bacteria that kills most things in twenty four hours. Komodo dragons are solitary creatures. The bearded dragon is from Australia. Bearded dragons can grow to 24 inches long. They can bring their body temperature back to normal by changing color. Flying dragons are 8 inches long. On each side of a flying dragons body it has small and thin wing like skin folds. Flying lizards (a type of flying dragon) only go on the ground to lay eggs.

A spider called patu digua can be 1  third of a millimeter. african wild dogs have the strongest bite of any living carnivore. olms are blind but they have great hearing and smell! casowary birds are so strong they can kick over cars!!!!!wombats have square poop! amoebas reproduce by splitting parts off them! tardigrades can survive just about anwhere including space!
